An environmental portrait does more than show what someone looks like. It places the subject within a setting that communicates something about their work, position, industry or personality.

I photograph executives, professionals and corporate teams in the environments where their stories naturally take place—offices, boardrooms, trading floors, architectural interiors, aviation facilities and locations throughout New York City and the surrounding region.

The location is not treated as decoration. Light, composition and camera position are used to connect the subject with the architecture, workplace or visual identity around them. Sometimes that means incorporating recognizable company branding or industry details. In other situations, the environment is used more subtly through color, structure, depth and negative space.
